The Story
I began my journey in the Fashion Industry shortly after graduating from the Insitute of Technical Education in 2024, landing jobs in freelance ghostwriting before transitioning to the luxury sector as a Client Advisor, where I worked under major fashion houses such as Sam Edelman and Salvatore Ferragamo.
As I furthered my studies via online courses, my focus quickly shifted to publications on sustainable luxury, ethical practices, and digital culture; which inspired me to start my own publication on Substack.
With my hobby in writing alongside several others, such as curating Pinterest moodboards and styling outfits, I was determined to carve out a new path for myself. Aiming to redefine societal norms outside of what's considered "conventional" or not, this spark of energy eventually landed me an internship with Vogue Singapore, where I learnt what goes on behind major publications.
The journey continues as I move towards my bigger goals.
The Vision
As a Fashion Writer, I aim to move beyond simple trend analyses and echoing the same narratives as every magazine article. In my Substack publications, I explore the art of craftsmanship, sustainable fashion, and the history behind iconic garments. From critique to observations, I write about anything that comes to mind, blending spirituality with journalism.
If creativity is a flowing river of thought, who am I to not act upon it?
Key Publications
My features have appeared in Vogue Singapore for multiple publications, syndications, and translations, from New York Fashion Week articles to foreign Vogue issues and brand campaigns.
Past freelance work under The Urban Writers have also been featured from time to time, under anonymous aliases for clients. Due to copyright infringements, I do not showcase finalised works from TUW.
